Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
